Today I read that The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight tracked the biggest decline in housing price increases in THIRTY years! So why is this good news for home buyers? Simply put, mortgage rates are still close to an all time low. We were spoiled a few years ago with unrealistic rates in the 5% range, but now is a great time to take advantage of the market slow down AND the increase in foreclosures due to people who overbought wih Adjustable Mortgages over the past several years and now can’t keep up with adjusting payments.

Today I will be real with you all. Being in the business world, and in the mortgage business in particular, I have become more “hollywood” than I ever thought I would. I will admit, it’s neat to have your friends and family read press releases about you, learn more about you by doing Google searches on you, or see your ads in the local grocery store and call you to tell you about it, but it can tend to make you think you are more important than you are.

As I deal with businesses and vendors, one common theme I see is people getting “too big and too important” as their businesses grow, and losing the personal touch. Even today, I had a problem with one of my vendors and years ago the CEO of this company was a phone call away (on a holiday even), today… he was nowhere to be found. I will be nice and not mention his company by name even though he cost me time, money, and credibility today.

You have my committment that no matter what Yahoo, Google, or anyone else says about “Anthony Kirlew”, I will always be just a phone call away.

I am nor sure what made me get so philisophical today. Maybe it’s because I am getting older, or mabe it is because I am growing up (finally), and maybe it’s becuase I am getting married in three weeks (which is why I am growing up).

Enjoy yourself this weekend, and get some rest for me… I need it.
